{wedding} alanna and ryan

"you know that movie where renee zellweger says 'you had me at hello', well that was when he had her!"  this is what alanna's dad said as he recounted the moment when ryan had won alanna's heart forever.

they had been working on a home building project together and ryan was adamant that he knew the right way it should be done... it should be done the way that mike had told him to do it when he was last out visiting. alanna, shocked that ryan had remembered something her dad had said, was even more blown away when she learned why ryan had remembered: because it is respectful to remember! "that was when he had her!" and the joy that alanna and ryan bring to one another is only surpassed by amount of respect they have for one another, which is apparent to anyone who spends any amount of time with them!!

thank you so much alanna and ryan for choosing me to be the one to capture this on your more-than special day! and oh my goodness, do you ever know how to throw a party!!  what a breathtakingly beautiful, elegant and romantic wedding!  highlights: a snowy first look, gorgeous venues [the rossmount inn and the chapel of ease], alanna laughing her way down aisle because she forgot her bouquet, amazing candlelight and decor, "the loving cup" and a precious father/daughter dance. oh my!!

love & sunshine,
shannon-may

alanna and ryan opted for the first look, which is always so lovely because it means more time to enjoy one another and be photographed before all the real busyness of the day ensues!! my second shooter jon captured this shot of alanna making her way to her groom. i love this shot because it captured perfectly the attitude that alanna had towards the snow: no big deal.

alanna and ryan had chosen such gorgeous locations for their ceremony [the chapel of ease] and reception [the rossmount inn] that it only made sense to highlight these spaces for their formal portraits!

the ceremony and reception were predominately lit by candlelight. my second shooter jon captured this sweet closeup of the romantic and ever-so-dreamy flames.

alanna,  ryan, and i worked on a top secret photo session and slideshow presentation for their friends, which i will be sharing with you shortly! these are just a few reactions to the calamity and creativity!!

check out the slideshow here or below to see a few more photos from alanna and ryan's amazing day!
