ENGAGED | Jennifer and Clint

When I first talked with Jennifer to discuss her's and Clint's wedding there were two things she was sure to focus on: they wanted a wedding that was not only a celebration of the life she and Clint have created together and the commitment for forever that they will be making, but a celebration that honors their families and friends and the legacy those relationships have had on her's and Clint's lives. And one of the ways this will be done is through the decor and details that would surround the day, which will be tied together with a rock 'n roll theme!! Since then, I have enjoyed hearing about all the plans, mementos and special moments that will culminate this coming Saturday at their Kingsbrae Garden wedding!!

After  some rescheduled dates we finally met up for their engagement photo session this past Monday. We met Kingsbrae Gardens and Jennifer and Clint led me around the garden to various locations that Jennifer has loved since she first began working there six years ago. As we walked and talked and stop to take pictures Jennifer recounted the various gardens she had a hand in creating, and with that gave a history on the development of the garden.  And as we walked and talked Clint would joke with Jennifer and tease her, but anytime we stopped in the gorgeous light to create some images, he was quick to embrace her! It is so obvious how comfortable they are with one another and how in love they are after many years and two young children together.

I love how invested  Jennifer is in this garden, and that she and Clint have chosen this place for their engagement photos and their wedding. It speaks volumes about how they both value family, making their vision for the wedding a very holistic celebration! And all of this speaks to the marriage they will have, and the legacy they will leave for their children and those who are fortunate enough to be in relationship with them.

I can't believe their wedding is tomorrow already! And I can't wait to share the images with you!! Stay tuned for pictures next week!

ENGAGED | Julie and Jeff

One doesn't need to spend too much time with Julie and Jeff to know that they have a lot of fun together and like to laugh, a lot! From the moment we began our time together they laughed! There was almost a giddiness about them that was so endearing it made my heart melt a little and my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much a long with them!).  And everything about these engagement photos is genuine; from the smiles and affection, to the pottery cups from which  Julie and Jeff drink their morning coffee and end of day wine, to the blue jeans and cozy sweaters. It's all them, all the time!

It easy to tell how equally excited Julie and Jeff are to be getting married this summer!! And all that excitement began one evening last month. When I asked about the proposal, Julie wrote, "We were sitting on the couch and Jeff said 'Let's get married!' I laughed and said, 'I would marry you right now!' He then suggested we pick out a ring together as he wasn't sure what I would like...Lol! We went ring shopping the next day, found the perfect ring, and the rest is history!  And Julie and Jeff's history will continue to unfold this September when they are married in a garden ceremony in Saint Andrews.

As soon as their wedding plans were underway I received a phone call from Julie that began something like this: "Hello Shannon-May this is Julie from Saint John Nissan! Remember when I said I would call you when I got engaged? Well, I'm engaged, and I want you to be my wedding photographer!" "Yay!" was my response! And I am so glad Julie remembered!! I cannot wait to photograph these two on their best day together, because if their wedding is anything like their engagement session - down to earth, personal and reflective of how they love, then this is sure to be one memorable wedding!
