[wedding] eric and trish

long before looking each other up on facebook over three years ago, and even before mutual friends introduced them to each other during their first year of univeristy they were not unknown to each other! eric was the boy with long hair and a goatee who made trish's heart pitter patter every time she saw him at his workplace! yes, she was the young girl who was crushin' on the super cute blockbuster movie rental boy! when they reconnected some ten years later, this time both trish and eric were crushin.' and after taking a trip to mixico together they both knew "that this was it."

i still remember when i first met eric and trish last may, and the excitement bursting in them [especially trish] as they talked about their wedding. trish had ordered two dresses and the wedding was planned for fall because trish always wanted to have a fall wedding near the beach!  hearing their story, and witnessing trish's dream wedding day come true, furthers my belief that love is real, and comes in ways one least expects! i mean, how often does a girl's high school crush turn out to be the guy!! but. he is the guy who trish can always count on to be honest and loyal, and she is the girl who is always brutally honest with eric... the traits they love most about each other.

trish and eric, thank you so much for the opportunity to witness, tell and share your story. i wish you many more dreams come true!

[family] nick, jen and ava

it was a very rainy saturday when i hopped into my car and headed towards digdeguash lake. i was prepared for the rain, making sure to wear my bogs and to pack an umbrella, and i don't mind standing in light rain to take photos, but a downpour was just not inspiring. furthermore, i would have to take a small boat across the lake to nick and jen's cottage, and this was not quite so appealing with the rain that was falling!

thankfully the rain let up enough so we could spend a bit of time outdoors, and the covered porch provided the perfect venue for a cozy family portrait session before moving inside to the cottage where sweet little ava could move around, and then cuddle up with her mom and dad on the couch!!

this was the perfect little family photo shoot to kick off what has been a very busy october! oh, and the boat ride... well i was perfectly dry under the boat canopy!!

have a happy day!

[wedding] jeff and carolyn

"we are eloping with our parents there" is what carolyn told me on the phone when she called me four weeks ago to see if i would be available to photograph her wedding.  she and jeff had just become engaged and decided to skip the long engagement process, and to instead go all out on a simple yet very elegant elopement.

they had known about each other for years, acquainted through family connections, and were reconnected through facebook after losing track of one another for ten years. she was living in alberta at the time, and when he stepped off the plane his first visit out to see her, "he was nervous and shy'" and she experienced the "same old butterflies, and still had a crush after all those years!"

jeff and carolyn are a good match. in her own words, "we're complete opposites, we like to think we level each other out! he's quiet, shy, yet very loud when he's with people he knows. i'm a people person." but where they are same is in their love and adoration of each other, and this was so apparent on their wedding day.

jeff and carolyn, thank you so much for inviting me to be apart of your day. i felt extra privelged knowing that i was "in" on the secret!! i wish you both, and your beautiful little boy the happiest lifetime together. i look forward to seeing you next year for your one year anniversary photos!!

love & sunshine,
