{engagement} a day in the life of ryan and alanna

ryan and alanna were married this past november and they had a very special surprise for their guests, of which i had the honour of being apart. when alanna and i began discussing her engagement photos last august she presented the idea of doing something out of the box and i was so on board! she still wanted the lovely and casual engagement photos, but she also wanted something special that was uber-unique to her and ryan.

since they first began dating, ryan and alanna have been renovating houses together. to say home renovation is a part of their story is a big understatement. at their wedding, alanna's father recounted the moment when ryan won alanna's heart forever; they were discussing the best way to complete a building project they were working on! so, alanna's idea: a day in their life, which consisted of a shopping trip to home depot and few building projects! oooohhhh, but there is a twist!

i have been waiting months to share this with you!! i love everything about this shoot, but most specifically that is was conceived by alanna as a true and unique representation of her and ryan's life together; this is who they are and i feel so lucky to have been able to capture this for them, and give them reason to have this fun experience together!!!!

check out the blog post of their wedding to see a few reactions from their guests as they watched the slideshow during the reception. and be sure to check out the slideshow below to see the full story of alanna and ryan: a day in the life!

love & sunshine,

ryan and alanna are know by name at home depot, so they had little trouble getting permission for this shoot... even better, we had access before the store even opened!! [thank you gerry!!]
