Deer Island at Night

I had the most incredible wedding shoot this past Saturday. Three ferry boat rides, a wedding ceremony on a schooner, lobster feast for dinner, a live band, incredible party guests from all over NB, Canada and Scotland, and a bride and groom so happy I get teary when I look at the pictures.

I also had the privilege of being on Deer Island all night long, past the hour that the last ferry sailed. And while my plan was to spend the night sleeping in a tent I couldn't help but take this time to drive around the island while (most) of it's residents slept.

Every once in a while I would stop my car, step out and take a few pictures of the beauty I found. In the distance I could hear the sounds of boat horns and motors, a fitting soundtrack for the end of a day that still makes me smile and sometimes pinch myself for I still can't quite believe that I get paid to have these experiences! Anyone getting married in Cape Breton in the fall?

Love & Sunshine,
