Lisa and Norm's wedding story began the same way their love story began: online. Only this time Lisa didn't cancel! After meeting and becoming acquainted online, they planned to meet in person only Lisa canceled, three different times! It wasn't until Lisa found herself "a damsel in distress" that she and Norm finally met in person. Norm came like a night in shining armor so that Lisa could pick up her chariot from the local mechanic. A coffee date filled with hours of rich conversation the following day, and Lisa realized there was something special about this guy. She writes "It was just so easy to talk to him... and I fell in love with his smile and that laugh! After that... it's all history."
When it came time to propose, Norm planned a proposal so uniquely them. While upstairs studying and working on his computer, he "nudged" Lisa, who was downstairs working and on msn. He asked if it was weird that they had met online and she replied "no" and Norm said "good, then do you want to spend the rest of your life with me?" And without skipping a beat, Norm ran downstairs, got down on one knee and repeated his question to Lisa who was in shock after she read and reread his question online. Obviously she did manage to say yes!
I LOVED photographing Lisa and Norm. I love how comfortable they are with each other.; I love how much Norm adores Lisa; and how Lisa has this cheeky little look she shoots Norm with and he smiles in return. I love how much they believe in each other, and encourage each other's passions. I know their wedding will be a joy-filled day, a beautiful celebration for these two love birds who set aside every Wednesday night to just be together.
Norm is a volunteer fire fighter, and both he and Lisa are involved in various community efforts with the local firehall so it made sense that their engagement session included their firehall (though we had planned a more woodsy location but the rain had different plans!!). And, I cannot wait to show you images of how they incorporate the love of firefighting into their wedding - but you'll have to wait until after October 2oth to see those images :) Until then, enjoy these highlights from their engagement album, and wish them congratulations on their soon-to-be nuptials.
