WEDDING | Patricia and Jadon

Every little detail of this DIY wedding was planned to perfection. Family and friends had ran with the vision Patricia and Jadon had for their wedding and over the past many months worked tirelessly along with them to bring their outdoor, sea glass and peacock inspired spring wedding into fruition. Patricia's mom Wilma and brother-in-spirit Matt spent months making the colourful flag streamers, her Aunt Donna arranged all the flowers and brought in from Ontario various bits needed for the centrepieces along with other family who contributed (on loan) silver serving platters, vases and candle holders. Family and friends provided the live music, friends lent tents, chairs, design abilities, and beauty and bar-tending services. Everything was planned and executed with perfection, even in the midst of the torrential rain causing last minute reception venue and ceremony footwear changes!!!

Like every one looking forward to Patricia and Jadon's wedding, I was watching the weather forecast all week long, wondering what we were going to do if the rain didn't stop. Patricia and Jadon's wedding was to be an outdoor ceremony in the apple orchard at Ganong Nature Park followed by a mostly outdoor reception with a tent for some of the festivities. It was Friday night when I received the call to say that things were changing, the ceremony would be under the tent at the park but the reception had been moved to Park Hall, at St. Stephen's University.

Looking at these pictures yesterday as I culled them and edited these highlights brought back the feelings of joy and happiness that surrounded the day. One would never know that none of this was the plan!! I have known Patricia for six years, and Jadon for a few less than that, but I have never seen them look at each other the way they looked as they exchanged vows, exchanged rings, received words of wisdom and blessings from their parents, and then were pronounced husband and wife! I found myself more than teary as I reflected on the days events and the immense support and love their families and friends have for them, and the words that Patricia and Jadon expressed in their speeches. To hear Jadon praise his Bride - the beautiful woman he knew he would marry after knowing her only a month, was incredible to witness. The rain did nothing to hinder the celebration. If anything it will live up to the cliche that goes something like "Rain on your wedding day means many blessings" - a phrase Patricia's mom also noted as she presented the newlyweds with a box containing various shells and beach-combing finds that represented the pilgrimage that is marriage and all the various parts they will experience on their journey.

Enjoy these images as they map out the story of Patricia and Jadon's wedding day, and join with me in praying many blessings over their marriage.

Love & Sunshine,
Shannon-May
