the st. andrews market and finding joy in potatoes

it is 10:30am and i have already been out to the st. andrews market, paid a visit to honeybeans and have been back home and began working!! if i am being honest, this time in the morning i usually just getting get dressed for the day and sleepily walking towards the coffee pot in desperate need for my morning caffeine fix!

i really wish i was a morning person, and at times [when my bedtime in earlier than the usual 1am] i am up bright and early and i love it! but i find that i have a lot of motivation to work between 9pm and 1am and just cannot pull myself away from the computer during this time!

but today, i had early plans to hit the market with my friend shelley and was so glad i did. i picked up a fresh homemade loaf of honey whole wheat bread, a container of the most delicious humus on earth [thank you "uncle habib!"], a couple bunches of fresh basil [that i will be making into pesto during a pesto making party this evening], and delicious tomatoes, which are like candy to me these days. and my favourite purchase: the prettiest potatoes i ever seen! i am not sure what it is about these potatoes, but i experienced so much joy buying this basket of potatoes that were fresh picked on tuesday. perhaps it is because they are real food and grown local, or perhaps it is simply that i am weird!

love & sunshine,
shannon-may
