[wedding] musquash, nb: mandy & curtis

their story is one of modern fairytales and their wedding day was the culmination of manys years spent growing up together, graduatiing school together and building a life together. having been together for eleven years there was much to celebrate this past saturday as they [finally] exchanged rings, signed the papers, and commited to loving each other for ever.

from the moment i met mandy and curtis i have waited in anticipation to photograph their wedding. i had the sense that it would be a real family affair. not just a simple diy wedding, but a wedding that would gather together family, and friends as dear as family, to create the best wedding celebration of which mandy and curtis are so deserving  [i am pretty sure no one will disagree with me when i say that mandy and curtis are two of the warmest and most generous people you could ever know]. the ceremony and reception spaces were peppered with details that showed how much mandy and curtis love each other, and how much they love  and are loved by their family and friends!  as mandy's mother said to me during the reception: this is everything mandy envisioned for her wedding!

mandy and curtis, i feel so, so priveleged to have been apart of your wedding day and to have been trusted to document your wedding story. you both went above and beyond to make me feel more like a guest than someone 'on the job,' and your relaxed spirits and belief in my work made my job so easy! you are my dream clients! i wish you a lifetime of happiness!

love & sunshine,
shannon-may

below are a few of my favourite portraits and details from mandy and curtis' august 6th wedding. for more highlights be sure to check out the slideshow here.

i love that each of the bride's maids had personalized bouquets. there is a story behind each one i am sure!

mandy and curtis will be spending their honeymoon in france, so i brought along this little trinket i purchased when i was in paris a few years ago! i thought it was very fitting and would be perfect for getting a unique ring shot!

for the bride and groom photos we went to the dam where curtis surprised mandy with a proposal this past spring!

mandy's dad cut the stump and all the discs of wood used to decorate the tables, which the white and teal lanterns sat on, and her friend's sister made the cake based on a picture that mandy found!!

all the trees in the front yard of many and curtis's home had these lanterns hanging from their branches. what a marvellous way to mark the venue and announce 'the celebration is here!'

i am so thrilled to share this wedding with you all!! would love your feedback :)
